Three months of architectural framework development now bear fruit as the new parcel typologies - just released in Hektar!
In short, we have redefined the logic of building types and how they are positioned in parcel typologies - both in code and as a comprehensive guide that you will find here. What makes the new typologies of Hektar truly revolutionary is the sheer amount of them in our database - something that allows a user to:
Using only 5 building typologies we’ve been able to systematically encode a little more than one thousands unique parcel configurations (depending on how you count - for each parcel we actually test further combinations of buildings depths and opening widths if any- amounting to more than 10.000 variants in total).
In less than 0.01 ms per configuration using a normal computer, we evaluate the geometric suitability of each. Simultaneously, FAR and SCR is evaluated, where only certain configurations will lie within the bounds specified by the user. In the very last step, a configuration is selected from that remaining pool of parcel configurations using a set of predefined design strategies.
