Data comes first in Data-Driven Innovation
As we advance with Hektar, we have identified a significant challenge in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. Although there are existing file and exchange formats such as IFC, there is a lack of representation and modeling for the architectural scales required to fully achieve a self-aware and smart model in Hektar. We recognize that we are not alone in facing this issue. The current lack of exchange models results in working in silos, with no connection to see which quarters have access to specific streets or which blocks have apartments with views over the park.
To address this, we will develop a comprehensive model that considers various architectural elements such as stairwell typologies, blocks, floor plans, and apartments. Additionally, the model will include grouped data for streets, block structures, and more. This model will be integrated into Hektar as the foundation for the upcoming manipulation/sketch mode within the tool. But we will also make it open accessible outside Hektar.
Creating a Seamless Data Integration and Manipulation Framework
Our goal is to create a framework that enables the seamless integration and manipulation of information. This is increasingly important with the rise of AI, as structuring data correctly is critical. We aim to provide a robustsolution that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of urban development projects. The model will be integrated into our Hektar platform and will ensure interoperability with other software.
Shift2Access – European Partnership Supporting Collaboration
We are pleased that Vinnova, IQ Samhällsbyggnad, Formas, and the Swedish Energy Agency support our project through the Shift2Access initiative. Via Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) - a partnership within Horizon Europe this project further enhances our ability to address challenges in urban development.
Shift2Access is instrumental in providing frameworks that ensure accessibility and integration across various urban environments, aligning with our goal of creating a comprehensive, interconnected model. Read more about Shift2Access here
Invitation to Collaborate
We invite stakeholders to join us in this development endeavor. We are keen to engage with traffic planners, urban planners, data scientists, coordinators, and other relevant professionals. Your insights and expertise will be invaluable in shaping a model that meets the diverse needs of interconnected urban development.
